4th Annual Victory Ball @ CBC Studios (Thu, Jun 7, 2018)

The 4th annual Victory Charity Ball was held Thursday June 7, 2018 at CBC Studios. This was not just another boring fundraiser; the goal was to deliver the most exciting and entertaining fundraising event in the city each and every year and they definitely came out on top.

The evening started off with a cocktail reception in the CBC’s main floor atrium. Then guests were escorted on private elevators up to Studio 40 for a black tie dinner, entertainment & boxing. Michael “Pinball” Clemons, wearing a fine red tuxedo jacket stood at the studio’s entrance smiling cheek to cheek greeting EVERY single guest with a warm handshake or hug and posed for selfies.

There were 8 bouts of amateur boxing ranging from the white collar of Bay Street’s elite to former inner city kids that grew up in the ghetto of Regent Park. All the boxers fought with so much heart and soul trying to reign the championship while respecting their opponent and making sure they entertained the crowds.

The evening’s hosts were Cabral “Cabbie” Richards, Canadian sports television personality on TSN Sportscentre and Laura Ward, an entertainment guru, working as a Segment Producer for Canada’s top entertainment show, etalk. Ring Announcer Rod Black, sports announcer for TSN and CTV Sports brought a witty, lightheartedness while poking fun at the boxers and making the crowds laugh incredulously.

The Pinball Clemons Foundation’s vision is to empower youth through education by bringing them from the margins the the mainstream. They invest in the best charities that provide both wrap-around and holistic approaches to local and global sustainability through education.

The Ambassador Program is an alternative school program designed to assist youth, who have dropped out of high school, to reengage with learning. The aim is to help them complete their Ontario Secondary School Diploma, gain valuable life skills, and successfully move into a post-secondary school environment.

We would like to thank Lorraine Quartaro, Public Relations for the Pinball Foundation for this invitation.
