BEHOLD Florida-based Metal Collective Cosmogyral’s Debut Release Expect “All Killer, No Filler” From The Band Out To Impart Wisdom & Perspective

While Cosmogyral originally came together in 2014, the Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based band forwent the traditional route of playing gigs until they had a formal album to offer. Four years later, the wait has proved worthwhile in the form of BEHOLD — available now!

As far as debut releases go, BEHOLD lives up to its name. With 12 tracks totalling more than 60 solid minutes of high-energy, groove-oriented metal material, BEHOLD deftly showcases the melodic prowess that has the band easily compared to the likes of At the Gates, Amon Amarth, and a modern-day Iron Maiden.

“The definition of ‘behold’ is to “look upon” or to “take notice”, and this is precisely what we sought to accomplish with this album,” says guitarist Dee Mulligan; alongside bandmates Eric Estrada (guitars), Sean Adams (vocals), Erik Lissabet (bass), and Rafael Lamardo (drums). Lyrically, the band focuses on solutions opposed to problems, and guidance through ancient wisdom. “

As a band, we strive for cohesion; both lyrically and musically,” adds Adams. “We take this obligation quite seriously.

“Our motto is ‘all killer, no filler.’”

So teeming with material are Cosmogyral’s songs, that new single “Time/Set This World Alight” is counted amongst the band as two songs.

“This was one of the last songs written before recording the album,” Adams continues on about the lyrically complex double track. “‘It’s about ‘time’ itself, as well as our experience within it, and with the intertwinement of both our spiritual and physical existence on Earth.

“Part one — ‘Time’ — is about the nature of time and relativity. Anyone and everyone has a perspective of the universe, (and it) can and will be observed uniquely. We are all “slaves” to time…

“Part two — ‘Set This World Alight — is about spiritual alchemy,” he continues. “Turning the imperfect man, ‘lead’, into the enlightened being, ‘gold.’

“The alchemist uses symbols to convey meaning to the initiated. We must all endeavour to gain this knowledge and recognize what we see around us.

“It’s about recognizing the power within us. How we must use that power; to grow beyond hate, beyond our differences, and as people, to make this world a better place. It’s a call to action, for everyone around the world, to realize and come together towards a unified goal.”

Cosmogyral are a five-piece metal band based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Featuring speed and melody that has drawn comparisons to groups such as At the Gates, Amon Amarth, Death, and Iron Maiden, Cosmogyral has a sound that will get you moving.

When it comes to songwriting, this band goes their own way. Not seeking to be the heaviest, the loudest, or even the most complex, their strategy is simple: they write the music they want to hear. Planting melodies deep within the subconscious until you find yourself humming along without even realizing it.

Influenced by the likes of Metallica’s James Hetfield and Chuck Schuldiner’s band Death, guitarist Dee Mulligan’s work creates an epic landscape. He is able to fluidly weave advanced techniques into a sound that can only be described as “intricate simplicity.” When backed by Erik Lissabet’s smooth basslines and the grooves of drummer Raffi Lamardo’s accent based style, the creation is further enhanced.

Newest member, guitarist Eric Estrada, coming from a thrash background, adds to the dynamic of fast picking and soaring leads, which can only intensify future compositions. Sean Adams is the final piece of this puzzle. His range combines crushing lows, aggressive mids, and highs that cut like a knife; along with crisp and clean vocals to compliment any situation. Blending these multiple styles with vocal melodies that cascade over the music like the currents of a raging river.

Cosmogyral is a band that is all about the feel. Using tempo, tone, and note selection, they envelop the listener within a wall of sound and energy on each track.
