2019 Super Bowl Opening Night@State Farm Arena, Atlanta, Georgia-Monday, January 28, 2019

By Kimberly Samnang On Monday night, the craziness of Super Bowl week finally began. The Patriots and Rams took turns meeting with reporter after reporter after reporter at Opening Night. We heard from the likes of Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, Sean McVay, Jared GoffRob GronkowskiTodd Gurley, Wade Phillips, and nearly every other player and coach for the Rams and Patriots. I was an arm’s reach, front row and center for both Coach Belichick and Sean McVay’s press conference. Kimberly: How would you feel if 4 of the 7 refs, on Super Bowl Sunday are from LA, just like at the Saints vs Rams NFC championship game? Coach Belichick: “I’m just gonna worry about what I have to do and let everyone else worry about what they have to do.” Such a diplomatically correct answer, all the while smiling mischievously at me as he knows that game was RIGGED! Belichick wore a suit instead of a hoodie. Brady (jokingly) refused to give Goff any advice. Goff revealed he doesn’t even remember watching Brady’s first Super Bowl against the Rams. There were strange questions and strange answers, per Opening Night tradition. A scorpion was eaten. Gronk even danced at one point. A media gentleman from Mexico knitted a traditional “Baja” (Mexican hoodie) and had sewn a picture of Coach Belichick onto it, which his girlfriend, Linda Holliday snagged from Coach B as she loved the gift! Super Bowl Opening Night Fueled by Gatorade was the national kickoff for Super Bowl LIII festivities. Super Bowl players and coaches addressed the nation for the first time LIVE from a press conference at State Farm Arena in Atlanta! Super Bowl Opening Night was the first interaction that Super Bowl players and coaches from both teams have with media before the Super Bowl, and the only time the two teams were in one location before the game. Cheerleaders, team mascots, free autographs from NFL players and Legends, the media frenzy from up-close viewing platforms, unique photo opportunities and more! They even had a Super Bowl LIII – Fan Mobile Pass app for the chance to win prizes including two tickets to Super Bowl LIII! Thank you NFL Media Day Passes for this invitation.
