On March 22nd, Friday Night Live at the ROM had a Holi theme. Featuring access to the new exhibit Treasures of a Desert Kingdom, the night celebrated the colourful Hindu festival with live performances on the stage and cultural food on the menu. The Treasures of a Desert Kingdom exhibit features the royal arts of Jodhpur, India. On display were many beautifully crafted pieces of jewellery, lavish tents, vibrant paintings and stunning decorative art that reflect the history of the Rathore dynasty who ruled the kingdom for centuries until India’s independence in 1947.
As with any Friday Night Live event, guests are free to wander through many parts of the museum as they enjoy food and drinks. Food was provided by King Catering, Gushi Japanese Street Food, Mnandi Pies, Tita Flips and others. Music and entertainment for this even was provided by DJ Fizza, DJ Reshiv, Beatz by Hemi, G Pinto and others, with a special performance by Rajasthani Dance Ensemble who put on a wonderful dance performance.
Friday Night Live is hosted by the Royal Ontario Museum on Fridays through the year, with different themes.
