MYSTIFY, Michael Hutchence Documentary @ Hot Docs Cinemas (Apr. 28, 2019)

Australian band INXS were super popular in the 1980s ,90s and all the way up to today! INXS singer Michael Hutchence had very tragically committed suicide in 1997, at the age of 37. Through a collection of interviews with family, band members, friends and personal footage, Mystify, opening on April 28th at Hot Docs Cinema, tells the story of the charismatic personality; his personal demons, zest for life and the serious head injury that he hid from the public.

Long-time collaborator and music video director Richard Lowenstein created an amazing tribute to the frontman and shared this Documentary about this talented singer/musician. Hutchence’s life is chronicled with former girlfriends; singer Kylie Minogue, model Helena Christensen and Paula Yates on tour with INXS, trips on the Orient Express, at beaches and gala parties in France.

Also, there are scenes from holidays (Christmas being his favourite time of the year) and other occasions such as birthday parties, family in the kitchen with his mother, father and younger brother Rhett whom he was very close to.

Hutchence had the stage presence of Mick Jagger, Jim Morrison and David Bowie all rolled into one. A whole new generation will find INXS and Michael Hutchence as a brand “NEW SENSATION.”
