The 50th Anniversary of McKenna Mendelson Mainline Album-“STINK”Performed By Slidewinder @The Hughs Room Live-Thursday, June 6th
By Wayne Baggs
What kind of blues player has the licks to take on Gary Moore’s, Still Got The Blues? Mike Mckenna! His band Slidewinder did just that Thursday, June 6th at The Hughs Room Live.
Mike’s playing is so smooth and musical. I could listen to him play all night. He is only reinforcing what many of us rock/blues guitar player lovers know. That Mike McKenna is one of the most tasteful blues players, you are ever going to see. On this occasion, the 50th Anniversary of the landmark (and seminal McKenna Mendelson Mainline) album STINK (recorded in 1969 in the UK) a new version of Slidewinder, played the whole album.
The vibe was great, and the full house was loving it. After a brief intermission, Luke Gibson joined Slidewinder and what do you know, another great set of blues. Mike McKenna and friends are out there playing. If you are a blues/rock fan get out and enjoy. Always keep an eye on the Hughs Room Live calendar for great musicians playing live.https://hughsroomlive.com/
We would like to thank Jane Harbury for the invitation to this concert.
