Tamara Maddalen’s Album Listening Party & Live Performance @B-Town Sound In Burlington-Thursday, July 4th,2019

By Wayne Baggs
With great pleasure, I attended the CD listening party for Mint Green Mercury, the latest release from Singer-songwriter Tamara Maddalen. The title is an homage to the first car her father bought.

This Cd is a lifetime of experiences graciously written to put some of life’s emotional roller coaster ride to a song. With a powerful yet emotional voice, Tamara takes us through thirteen songs reflecting these life experiences. There doesn’t seem to be much left on the table.

Top notch production by Justin Koop of B Town Sound worked well to capture the emotion of Tamara’s performance. No filler and lacking the usual pop hooks make for what I find an accessible album, easy to listen from start to finish.

Smooth, I would say. The performances, the production and the writing all come together. After giving several listens to the CD, the tracks that draw me in are the three middle pieces. Starting with Divina, my favourite, followed by Whenever you Come Around and Fuel To Fire. Right now only “Fade Away” and “Rearview” are available on streaming outlets. I want to say it sounds familiar but don’t know why. That’s a good thing. Tamara’s passion, enthusiasm and love for music are more than evident upon meeting and talking with her. If you do meet her, ask her about the blue boots. This CD comes from the heart, which I believe comes thru listening to her music.

B Town Sound http://www.btownsound.ca provides not only a great place to record your music but also a perfect place to celebrate its release.
