The iconic character Godzilla has been around since 1954 and there has been no shortage of memorabilia, such as: T-shirts, toys and a notable song from the rockband Blue Oyster Cult. Always a cult classic and most of us have seen Godzilla on the big/little screen or in some form of merchandise.
Unobstructed View and Criterion celebrated A Monster Marriage, with THE TIFF Cinephile Party@THE QUEEN ANNE on Monday.
Unobstructed View being the exclusive Canadian distributor of the Criterion Collection. It was a busy Monday during TIFF time and we were invited to this fun event at The Queen Anne, which was steps away from the TIFF Bell Lightbox, which is where the “Hub” of TIFF 2019 was located.
Notable cinephiles who attend were: Norm Wilner (Now Magazine), Naomi Snieckus (Mr. D), Matt Baram (Murdoch Mysteries), Darrin Rose (Mr. D), Suresh John (Mr. D), Grace Glowicki, Raf, TIFF Rising Star’16), Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Kim’s Convenience), Jeremy Lalonde (Director- The Go Getters, Baroness Von Sketch Show) and many more!
The party was also celebrating the much anticipated Blu-ray release of Godzilla: The Showa – Era Films, 1954-1975 featuring fifteen Kaiju classics starring the king of the monsters, together for the first time in an exclusive 8-disc collector’s set with extensive supplements and a lavishly illustrated hardcover book, available October 29, 2019.
