Held at the epic Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto, November 21st was a night to celebrate Canadian songwriters, to hear the music and reminisce about the history of Canadian music. Awards were presented and then the songs were sung!

Executive Director of Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Vanessa Thomas was the animated MC who kept everything running smoothly.

The Highlights – Parachute Club’s song Rise Up with Lorraine Segato, 60’s song Opportunity awarded posthumously to Dominic Troiano accepted by family members. From the 70’s A Foot in Cold Water’s song Make me do Anything You Want and Klaatu’s Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft, 80’s Let Your Backbone Slide song by Maestro Fresh-Wes.

The Phoenix was filled to capacity with the best of Canadian music talent! Performers were Maestro Fresh-Wes, Tom Cochrane & Bill Bell, Jully Black, Michelle White, Kensington Market, all 3 members of A Foot in Cold Water, Lorraine Segato and Julie Masi of Parachute Club, Tom Wilson and the house band.

Why can’t we say who stole the show?! Because every single singer did! What a fantastic evening of Canadian music!

We would like to thank KWT Global and Sydney Tan for the invitation to this event.
