Andy Kim's Christmas Special @ Burlington Performing Arts Centre

by Wayne Baggs.

The Andy Kim Christmas at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre is a fundraiser for BPAC’s Golden Ticket program, an initiative that distributes FREE theatre tickets to students and families who otherwise would not have access to the performing arts.

This year’s special guests included Tom Cochrane, Bif Naked, Ron Sexsmith, Sarah Slean and Sean Cullen. An exquisite venue with a top-notch band playing memorable hits makes for a great night of music.

Sean Cullen hosted the show, keeping the crowd laughing with his comical take on the Burlington area. Bif does a little darker version of I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. Other seasonal songs included a beautiful performance of Silent Night by Sarah Slean. Also, Ron Sexsmith does Chris Rea’s Driving Home for Christmas like he wrote it, just fabulous. A new song from Ron’s upcoming album was another highlight of the night. Later. Andy joined with Ron to do their co-written, Whatever Happened To Christmas.

Experiencing live music is a part of life we love and can take for granted. If you know that great feeling live music can leave you with, please consider enriching the lives of Burlington Youth today by donating to the Golden Ticket Campaign.
