Bata Shoe Museum Toronto Reopening (Jul. 15, 2020)
by Sally Warburton
The reopening of Toronto is exciting… and July 15th was the first day for the Bata Shoe Museum at 327 Bloor Street West, Toronto.
One of Toronto’s favourite museums, the Bata Shoe Museum is in a beautiful airy building. To respect the physical distancing rules, signs are located on the floors along with reminders to wear masks.
Currently there’s the Art & Innovation Arctic Footwear Exhibit from the BSM Collection. Lots to see and learn – the history of shoes and fashion. In hot climates or the Arctic. Sports fans enjoy seeing running shoes from their favourite athletes. Rotating displays include shoes from rock stars and fashion models.
Always something new to see and learn. The Bata Shoe Museum is in a beautiful, airy building. Easy to get there by TTC just across from Spadina Station – St. George exit. Located by the University of Toronto. Bata Shoe Museum is a unique, always a new experience each time.
Opening August 12 is The Great Divide – 18th Century Shoewear Exhibit. On a hot summer’s day BSM is an ideal spot to spend an hour or two. For more details check their website http://batashoemuseum.ca/
