Veteran Canadian comedian, author and host of “The Debaters” Steve Patterson is putting a fresh spin on some of his most popular material with Young Stephen. Sort of Remastered available Friday, May 14, 2021 through Comedy Records.Steve Patterson has been a crowd favourite in Canada for over two decades and is widely known to hundreds of thousands of listeners as host of “The Debaters” on CBC Radio One and its popular accompanying podcast. This “sort of” new album is a hilarious look back at Steve Patterson’s catalogue of stand-up with new “notes” at the end of each track from notable comedians including K. Trevor Wilson, Dave Merheje, DeAnne Smith, Ivan Decker, Arthur Simeon and many more. Young Stephen. Sort of Remastered includes Patterson’s take on his Catholic upbringing, long life on the road, and keen observations of minutiae (like why razor manufacturers keep adding more blades) that few others would even bother observing let alone crafting comedy about. The album also features his trademark letters, and previously unreleased original songs including his tribute to the solitary standup comedian, “Lonesome Star”.These days, when Patterson is not touring (which he, like most performers right now, is NOT) he spends his time at home watching his wife and daughters for funny inspiration. This lead directly to the writing of his latest book Dad Up! which will be released June 1, 2021 by Penguin Random House Canada. He has also helmed “Short Film Faceoff Canada” on CBC for the past 10 years and served as the host of “I Wrecked My House” on HGTV.Comedy Records is Canada’s first record label dedicated to releasing stand up and sketch comedy albums. Established in Toronto in 2010, the label has produced several releases, which have reached the top of the iTunes Comedy and Google Play charts and been featured on Conan and Jimmy Kimmel Live.
