Canadian Music Week Stands with the BandsJim Beam INDIE Awards
To Support #BandTogetherInUnison Campaign Canadian Music Week is proud to announce the 20th Annual Jim Beam INDIE Awards will directly support the Unison Fund’s #BandTogetherInUnison $1,000,000 campaign. The 2021 INDIES will be broadcast FREE online Sunday, May 30 with virtual award presentations plus pre-recorded performances from Toronto’s El Mocambo.
The 2021 INDIES will include a fundraiser, with calls to action from notable Canadian musicians, with all proceeds in support of the Unison Fund’s #BandTogetherInUnison campaign. This year, the event can be viewed for free on Sessions and simulcast on SiriusXM thanks to the support of title sponsor Jim Beam, and SiriusXM Canada. The #BandTogetherInUnison campaign will help with the demand and urgency for support of the Canadian music and entertainment industry. Since the start of the pandemic, Unison has dispersed $2.3M+ in funds through financial assistance alone reaching over 2,200+ vulnerable music and entertainment people in need – a 3,021% increase in emergency financial assistance applications in 2020 alone and the demand for Unison’s counselling services continue to rise.
