The Immersive Nutcracker: A Winter Miracle in Toronto
By Sally Warburton
We know it’s the start of the Holiday Season when we hear talk about the Nutcracker! But this time the ballet is something new – an immersive event! The Immersive Nutcracker has arrived in Toronto at One Yonge Street…..same building as Van Gogh and Klimt Immersive Shows.
The foyer entrance sets the stage with the holiday season decorations…beautifully decorated tree, bigger than life Nutcracker Statue, diamond-like lights outlining a hot air balloon for stunning photos, souvenir shop and space to relax before the Immersive show. A perfect event for children to enjoy with a parent. Your family will be enchanted by Tchaikovsky’s classical music, including well-known music pieces “The March of the Toys”, “The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” while being immersed in 500,000 cubic feet of 360 degree screening projections both animated and real people. Such a calming and uplifting experience.
“Founded in 2019 by Toronto-based producers, Corey Ross and Svetlana Dvoretsky and Toronto-based developer – Slava Zheleznyakov, Lighthouse Immersive is the first experiential entertainment mult-plex, aiming to cultivate community and creativity through large-scale events and exhibitions of all forms.
Production company Storywall Entertainment, headquartered in Canada, has brought together the best creative professionals from around the world. The immersive projection show “The Nutcracker” will be the first project of the company, after the premiere in Canada and Russia, it will go on tour in the United States.”
