POLAR Returns For Holiday 2021 as a Magical Walk-Through Festival @ Bandshell Park, Exhibition Grounds. Holiday festival runs November 25 to December 26, 2021,

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, as we were invited to the opening of Polar Winter Festival, Toronto’s biggest outdoor Holiday event, which opened on November 25th at Bandshell Park, Exhibition Place. It runs from 5 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday evenings until December 26. Polar brings guests into a magical world of 16 festive Holiday zones including larger than life decorations, rides, games, food and drink, and a Holiday market. At long last kids can get photos with Santa — in Canada’s largest Santa photo op station. For covid safety, tickets are scheduled and available at www.polarwinterfestival.com ($14.99 – $19.99).

Here were some of activities available:

  • Festive decorations and Holiday photo ops – larger than life decorations from giant nteddy bears to the breathtaking Polar Ice Tunnel filled with thousands of crystals
  • Pictures with Santa — the Bandshell stage is transformed into Santa’s living room filled with incredible holiday decorations. Meet Santa and get a photo in Canada’s biggest Santa photo opp zone! Safe social distancing, outdoors so masks are not required for your photo.
  • Meet Elsa from Frozen – great photo ops!
  • Holiday Market — shop local and find great gifts among the market’s boutique vendors 
  • Rides — Checkers Fun Event Services bring nostalgia and excitement with rides like the Christmas train, classic carousel, ship excursion and super slide  
  • Cocktails under the stars — Hotel X Toronto presents X-Lounge brought to you by Harlo and Honeycomb Hospitality, with festive cocktails and roaring fire pits to keep cozy.
  • Food Truck Fare — Mustache Burger, BeaverTails and more will serve-up a feast of Holiday eats! 
  • Festive night out – Friends, family or date night fun! Covid protocols in place.
  • Toys For Tots – bring a new, unwrapped gift to donate to families in need (Saturdays and Sundays only)

Explore Polar Winter Festival’s 16 Holiday Zones!

Guests are welcome to photograph, video and share the photo-friendly Holiday zones (@PolarWinterFestival #PolarWinterFestival). Highlights include, the Polar Ice Age zone with a 50 foot long sparkling crystal ice cave, encrusted in white lights; giant inflatable polar bears; and dazzling ice themed decor. The Holidaze zone is classic Christmas with gingerbread, a shimmering LED light tunnel and Santa sleigh for photo ops, and a 25 foot tall LED Christmas tree. Get into the holiday spirit with a ride on the carousel! The Sparkle Zone lives up to its name with dozens of Christmas trees, sparkling decor and the Rok and Rol – a ferris-wheel style carnival ride for adults. Other rides include the inflatable Super Slide, the Polar Starlight Trackless Train and the Swing Ship Excursion! The Carnival Games zone is filled with fun games and chances to win prizes.

After exploring the Festival, guests can kick back under the stars and enjoy a Holiday cocktail and a bite to eat in the outdoor, heated X Lounge presented by Hotel X. Fire pits create a cozy atmosphere to sample Mulled Wine, FireBall Hot Toddies and good eats from food truck vendors: Beavertails, Get Your Own Taters, Moustache Burger, Kono Pizza and Six Donuts.

The Christmas market features boutique vendors such as Winterborn Alpaca, with scarves, hats and more; and for those who want to know what the new year holds – there’s even a psychic and tarot card reader.

Polar Drive: Supporting Toys for Tots

The Concierge Club partners with Toys for Tots on it’s annual gift drive. Guests of Polar Winter Festival are encouraged to bring an unwrapped children’s gift or gift card on Saturdays and Sundays the duration of the festival.

Get Your Own Taters Food Truck presents “Tots for Toys” day. An order of free tater tots will go to anyone making a gift donation on Saturday, December 18.

Tickets are available at www.polarwinterfestival.com where guests can view the calendar of all available time slots. General admission tickets for those 13 years and older are $19.99; General admission tickets for kids under 12 are $14.99. Photos with Santa are $12.99 and rides can be purchased onsite for $6 per ride,three rides for $15 or five rides for $25
