After an outpouring of online support, Australian producer LUUDE has officially released his iconic drum & bass rework of the cultural anthem ‘Down Under (feat. Colin Hayvia Sweat It Out. After a year that has seen LUUDE refine his production style, delving into the extravagant world of drum & bass, LUUDE put his talents to work on delivering a festival ready remix of the quintessential Australian record ‘Down Under’. LUUDE presents a whole new dynamic to the 1980 anthem, which went to #1 in Australia, New Zealand, United States, United Kingdom, and Canada. Utilizing the incredible flute skills of Sydney multi-instrumentalist Little Green, LUUDE blesses the record with drum & bass elixir to make it relevant for a warehouse rave, festival stage, or bass haven. Initially uploaded to his socials after playing around in the studio, the subsequent response was immense with a clamouring of support to have the release available to punters online. In catching word of the influx of love for the rework, Colin Hay gave his blessing for the track to be remixed and expressed his desire to be involved in the remake. “When I made this remix for a bit of fun, I never expected it to catch on like it did across the internet. To now be officially releasing it with Colin Hay is just mental – the whole project moved so fast, I am so excited to have it out there,” said LUUDE. On being involved with the rework, Hay said, “‘Down Under’ is a song that’s close to my heart, and it’s been extraordinary to see it stand the test of time. When I heard LUUDE’s remix, I immediately loved it, and thought I could jump in and update the vocal. I can’t wait for a new audience of fans to hear and feel the iconic spin LUUDE has put on the song. A song which is ultimately about celebrating the immense and amazing land we have all been lucky enough to experience growing up.” LUUDE (Christian Benson) has had an impressive career to date, established as a name capable of providing the dancefloor heat and garnering over 30 million streams across his catalogue on tracks such as ‘Right Now’, ‘Sink or Swim’, and ‘Paradise’.
