Immersive Frida Kahlo -Tues.,March 29, 2022

By Sally Warburton

The Immersive Frida Kahlo has opened! Another beautiful immersive experience for Toronto! This one tells the life of Frida Kahlo, Mexican artist who survived childhood polio and a car accident at a young age… and became one of Mexico’s most well-known artists. Along with her famous Mexican artist husband Diego Rivera whose life as a couple is part of Mexican history. Kahlo and Rivera’s house La Casa Azul in Mexico City is a fascinating museum retelling their life in the colourful house surrounded by beautiful gardens.

The Immersive Frida Kahlo now open in Toronto for a limited time shows Frida Kahlo’s life from childhood. We see the most important person in her life, Diego Rivera, and the love they shared.  Held at the Lighthouse Artspace at One Yonge Street Building the moving scenes of Kahlo’s life are magically depicted on the huge walls. Her childhood, her family, her illness, her pain, her art, her husband Diego Rivera – in all, her fascinating life are all there on the walls to discover.  Lots of great souvenirs at the immersive shop. Refreshments available.

At the opening event, we were honoured to have Frida Kahlo’s great niece Mara Kahlo and her great, great niece also called Mara in addition to the Lighthouse Immersive producer Svetlana Dvovetsky to officially open. A 4 piece Mariachi band performed and guests sampled delicious Mexican food.

Frida Kahlo Immersive Experience will amaze you. A peaceful, reflective and beautiful experience.

A wonderful event for your next outing.
