Ayana Releases Debut Single “Stand Up” 15 April, 2022

Ayana’s diverse background has largely contributed to the versatility of her voice and songwriting ability.

Having lived in 3 continents and traveled to 27 countries, Ayana has seen that no matter where you go in the world, there are people who don’t have a voice, who need to be empowered, who want to stand up.
From the ashes left in the wake of the oppression of women rises a rebellion, a rebellion clothed in contemporary R&B vocals, armed with Japanese kotos, Indian udu drums, and pulsating synths.
“Stand Up” is an R&B anthem summoning women warriors across the globe to rise, to fight back, to stand up.
Ayana’s mixed ethnic background of Jamaican, Japanese, English, Irish, and Italian, and her early childhood in the United States followed by a decade in three regions of Africa and early adulthood in the Czech Republic and Italy renders her a child of the world.

Ayana wrote “Stand Up” as a call to action; she strives to be a voice for the voiceless and a deliverer of light and power to a world often cloaked in darkness and injustice.
Stand Up is especially relevant right now with the Ukraine-Russia crisis as the planet teeters on the brink of another world war.
As an artist, Ayana feels that her greatest power is moving people with her voice and she knows that Stand Up will spark determination and resolve for people across the globe who are ready to fight back.

She expresses vulnerability through elements of Soul, sexiness through R&B, and love for the world through her choice of instruments. Ayana felt particularly inspired to channel her ancestry in this project, and the koto woven into the track is a nod to her Japanese roots. “Stand Up” is Ayana’s debut single and the voice of her revolution that aims to inspire and empower as it reverberates across the globe. Join her, she’s recruiting.
