‘Savour the South of France’ – Pays d’Oc IGP Trade Tasting@Stackt Market, Studio Room, 28 Bathurst Street Toronto-Tuesday, July 5th, 2022

We had the pleasure of attending the ‘Savour the South of France’ – Pays d’Oc IGP Trade Tasting. media guests tasted some amazing wines & discovered the heritage of Pays d’Oc IGP. We also learned the latest wine production trends, met , mingled with fellow members of  the media Industry  and there was a character artist on site to draw a keep sake souvenir for the attendees. Pays d’Oc is the IGP for red, white and rosé wines that are made in a large area on the southern coast of France Languedoc appellation itself. It comprises 58 grape varieties, a unique aromatic diversity, a wealth of products in all 3 colours, certified quality and typically 100% of Pays d’Oc IGP wines are tasted by a committee of wine experts in order to be certified and they are excellent value for the wines. We were presented with an very insightful Savour the South of France’ Masterclass by Sommelier Sara D’Amato

The Pays d’Oc IGP is arguably the most important in France, producing the majority of the country’s IGP wines. Five separate departments fall under the IGP (the Hérault, Aude, Gard, Pyrénées-Orientales and six communes in southern Lozère), which is delimited by administrative boundaries rather than geographical ones.

As such, a range of terrain is covered by the denomination, from the southern mountain ranges of the Massif Central to the river-crossed coastal plains of the Camargue. Vineyards jostle for space in the garrigue-strewn landscape.

The Pays d’Oc area has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters. Most of the rainfall is compressed into spring and autumn.

We got the chance to view the Pays d’Oc IGP wine region in one afternoon! At this live in person tasting designed just for members of the media trade, as it was the journey to the beautiful south of France and we immersed ourselves into a discovery of the Pays d’Oc IGP region and its wines.

We had a chance to Meet and Mingle walk around tasting food station pairings by the incredible Chef Trevor Lui’s Pop Kitchen. Lastly, to end the event, guests were invited to view the Bar à Vins patio(serving wines til the end of August.) Overall, it was an excellent afternoon to savour wine. We’ll be back til the end of August to enjoy the atmosphere of Stackt and ‘Savour the South of France’ – Pays d’Oc wines. Join us at The Bar a’ Vins patio for some great vibes, live music, a DJ spinning tunes and of course, the excellent wines. Cheers !

We would like to thank Lisa Ulrich, Andros Communications for the invitation to this event.
