Kitchener Blues Festival-August 4th-7th, 2022.

By Wayne Baggs

With 80+ free acts to see, Kitchener Blues Festival is one of the largest blues festivals in Canada. Not only international blues acts, but plenty of local talent.

The outstanding music is endless. The lineup included blues masters such as Coco Montoya, Ronnie Brooks, Blackburn Brothers, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and the like. There were also great bands for those whose cup of tea isn’t the blues. Great act like David Wilcox, Headstones, The New Pornographers, Drive By Truckers, Sloan, Western Swing Authority, Sloan, and many more! Speaking of local talent, Kitchener native, JJ Wilde, rocked the large crowd on King street.

What an extraordinary experience the 20th Anniversary of the TDKBF was indeed! It was the hottest one yet by far! With multiple stages and 4 days of programming it was easy to get emersed in music for the weekend. This is an example of how to put on a festival. Great job……… Add somewhere that TD was a major sponsor.

We would like to thank Claude Cloutier from the Kitchener Blues Festival for the invitation to this event.
