After Tanya Tucker disappeared from the spotlight for decades, music star Brandi Carlile and Shooter Jennings (son of Waylon Jennings) took it upon herself to write an entire album for their hero based on Tanya’s extraordinary life, starting a comeback and a tour to resurrect her career.

THE RETURN OF TANYA TUCKER follows Tanya’s interesting, but  challenging life, as she returns back to the top of her game. Brandi and Shooter  encourages her to push past her fears to create a new sound and reach a new audience. The writing, experimenting, and refining of this new music mixes with all that came before – using rare archival footage and photographs to bring the audience into Tanya’s history, beginning in a wide trailer in Seminole, Texas. Vintage footage with her former beau – Glen Campbell and her stories recounting her manager/father were some of the highlights of the documentary.

THE RETURN OF TANYA TUCKER is not only a music documentary, but a  touching story, a resurrection of a music career, a friendship, a collaboration, how life throws a curve ball and bouncing back.
