Reeyaz Habib’s dark comedy,FAT LADY SRIRACHA, Goes to Camera with Milcania Diaz-Rojas, Carlo Rota, Ben Sutherland and Angela Beshara
 Reeyaz Habib of Sriracha Stories Inc. is thrilled to announce that principal photography will begin on Monday, October 1st on the dark comedy, Fat Lady Sriracha, starring Milcania Diaz-Rojas (Don’t Hang Up, Far Cry 6, Homekilling Queen), Carlo Rota (Me Time, Spinning Man, Trigger Point, American Horror Story), Richard Fitzpatrick (American Gothic, Spotlight, Goodwill Hunting), Ben Sutherland (Kim’s Convenience, Kings of Napa, Left for Dead, Billy the Kid) and Angela Beshara (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, So Not Afraid, Mrs. America).Fat Lady Sriracha will be directed by Reeyaz Habib (Samir, Fightin’ Words), based on his screenplay and produced by Shachi Sharma (Time Out), Jaskaran Singh (Copeless, Lohri, Emotional Distancing), and associate produced by Rikhil Bahadur (Time Out) and Kate Hornsby (The Hammer). Game Theory Films will be distributing in Canada. The film was selected by Game Theory Film’s Black Indigenous and People of Colour Fund for support in their third round. Fat Lady Sriracha is a story about an aspiring line cook with no interest in kids or a family, who reluctantly agrees to become a surrogate mother to a loan shark, in order to repay her deadbeat dad’s gambling debts. “I feel very fortunate to be able to tell this story because there is a segment of society that needs to better understand the issue of gender imbalance and the absurd expectations society places on women. Having the opportunity to work with Milcania Diaz-Rojas, producers Shachi Sharma, Jaskaran Singh and Kate Hornsby along with the rest of the talented cast and production team has been a wonderful experience in terms of finding the best possible way to tell an entertaining story while exploring an important social issue,” said Writer/Director Reeyaz Habib. ABOUT REEYAZ HABIB Reeyaz Habib is a storyteller who left behind a 15-year career on Bay Street to pursue a passion for filmmaking. Reeyaz’s focus on telling entertaining, but socially relevant stories has won him a number of accolades including being the first ever Canadian recipient of the Panavision New Filmmaker Grant (2022). Reeyaz is an alumnus of the School of Cinematic Arts at USC and is represented by MeridianArtists. ABOUT SHACHI SHARM Shachi Sharma produced the feature film Timeout in association with Viacom18 Motion Pictures which was released theatrically and now available on Netflix. One of the first films based on homosexuality in India, Shachi has always taken the chances with niche and out of the box subjects and is also the author of Pullela Gopi Chand’s officialbiography, a film in pre-production with a major studio. In India, Shachi has been successfully helming her own production house Aexor Entertainment, for years and has produced ads for major brands and series for streaming platforms and international projects in the UK, Turkey and Canada.
