The Six Torontos Tour 2026 with Karen Stintz: Let’s Talk Toronto

By Sally Warburton

On Tuesday, October 13 was the evening of Karen Stintz’ final evening of her Six Torontos Tour. Held at the Powder Room at 129 Yorkville Avenue, Toronto. Set in the heart of Yorkville, the venue on the 2nd floor was a perfect location for this evening talk event. Guests were welcomed by Karen Stintz.  They enjoyed hors d’oeuvre and were able to purchase drinks from the well-stocked bar. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing in this venue with opportunities to chat to others.

Who is Karen Stintz?  She is well-respected former Toronto City Councillor & TTC Chair and author of Beyond Good Enough: Toronto and the Crisis of Urban Complacency

The evening’s talk was A Conversation with Karen Stintz & Greg Brady, veteran Canadian media broadcaster and host of Toronto Today on 640 Toronto for the Old Toronto stop. A conversation about Toronto’s future.

It was a fascinating talk about the kind of city people want to live in and whether Toronto is willing to be more ambitious about its future. Visiting the former municipalities which made up Toronto, Karen discussed Old City of Toronto asking questions such as what has amalgamation delivered? Not delivered? What should Toronto preserve? What needs to change? Above all, what should Toronto aspire to become and how?

Karen Stintz and Greg Brady’s talk included stories, debates and lively conversation about Toronto’s past and future. At the end, guests asked lots of interesting questions about all aspects of Toronto.

Karen Stintz and Greg Brady, both excellent speakers, created an evening of information and inspiration for the future of Toronto.  After the talk, Karen happily signed copies of her book Beyond Good Enough: Toronto and the Crisis of Urban Complacency. For more info on her book karenstintz.ca
